Suckers just keeps on rolling up international success stories. The series, which is a kind of off-the-wall X-ray of modern life seen through the eyes of little toys that live inside cars, has been acquired in Spain by Canal Sur for open-channel broadcast. Likewise, these screwy Suckers’sketches just premiered on K2 Channel in Italy, which offers entire blocks of various episodes at a time. Meanwhile, Disney XD, which hosted the world premier in February of last year and continues to air Suckers in several different countries, has reinforced its support and is going to launch it again on the internet in USA.
Co-produced by Screen 21, Genoma Animation and Televisió de Catalunya and distributed globally by BRB Internacional, the series Suckers (104 x 2’ in Hi-Def) is an original slapstick comedy without dialogue based on some truly strange but endearing designer toys – Art Toys – that live on the back windows of cars. Suckers, which is also seen in several Latin American countries on Cartoon Network, has recently been acquired as well by Vrak in Canada. The series is also enjoying great success on Super 3 Channel, Televisió de Catalunya’s children’s programmer.
Aimed at a target audience between the ages of 7 and 12, Suckers won the prestigious MIP JR Kids’ Jury Prize and is buffeted by an exceptional world-wide licensing project through its different global agents.
